Kristina is a big kid at heart, experienced yogi, and educator. She began her yoga journey as a teenager when she discovered both the physical and spiritual practice. Yoga was immediately transformative, a healing natural way for her to lessen anxiety and increase her focus and concentration. Most importantly it supported her ability to deepen her connection to her bountiful spirit, loving heart, and heightened consciousness. She began teaching in college, at first to her friends and then privately to families, including children of all ages. Upon graduation, she became a certified teacher at Frog Lotus Yoga, located in the Berkshire mountains of Massachusetts. Kristina moved to California shortly afterward, where she continued to teach both children and adults in addition to teaching preschool. Yoga inspired her adventurous spirit and took her to Costa Rica and Hawaii to spend summers at yoga retreat centers and helped her transition to a move to the Upper West Side of New York City, where she currently lives.
Kristina continued teaching preschool in New York. She found that yoga was the most helpful and fun way to transition children through their busy day, build empathy, foster community, and help connect everyone to their individual breath in an often over stimulating city environment. Parents began inviting her over to teach their children at home. It became evident how wonderful it was to have a regular yoga practice in a comfortable home environment at a convenient time for busy families. It was clear that teaching children yoga was deeply meaningful and Kristina decided to pursue it full time by starting her own business. Thus, the passion she felt inspired her to create Peaceful Piggy Yoga.
